GigaStudio: Keeping your license after a reinstall
When you really have to reinstall Giga
Sometimes, reinstalling GigaStudio is the only way to get rid of recurring problems with the software.
The first step is to do a "clean" uninstall of GigaStudio (see "GigaStudio: Updating Tips"). During the uninstall process, you can choose to leave the GS3 backup license installed on the PC. Make a note of where it is, so you can browse for it later.
If you were using GigaStudio v3.1x or 3.2x, and are reinstalling the same version, don't launch GigaStudio untill you have installed the version patch. It is quite common for the base install of GigaStudio 3 not to recognize the license code generated for a later version. Once you have installed the correct patch, launch GigaStudio, open the backup license, and it should be recognized.
In a worst-case scenario, if Giga still does not recognize your license, you can
always get a new one online or by email. The turnaround for authentication by
email is very fast - often you will receive an email from Tascam in under 24
hours.
